The 2022 Children’s Ministry Day (Children’s Day) of The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) has been marked nationwide.
The EPCG Shalom Congregation Amrahia congregational was not left out of the annual celebration. Children and teachers of the Children Ministry had a joint service with the adult church on this special day.
On the day, children performed key church service roles such as reading the bible texts for the day in English and Ewe, performing the liturgical duties, leading the praise and worship activities, and delivering the sermon for the day.
The 2022 Children’s Ministry Day (Children’s Day) was celebrated under the theme “Listen to the Lord and Live” Preaching at the celebration, Master Osborn Ladzekpo of the Children Ministry Senior Class called on Christians to respond to the call of Christ at all times, run away from sin and to hold on to the Christian faith. He challenged parents to teach their children the word of God and use the rod of correction to straighten them. He added that the world was going astray and sexual immorality was the order of the day. Master Osborn Ladzekpo called on parents to teach their wards what is right and help protect and preserve the future by standing up against LGBTQ+ and all related issues to ensure a better future for their wards.
Speaking to the children, the preacher asked them to desist from all manner of sins, including telling lies, stealing, and being disobedient.
He called Christians not to harden their hearts but rather listen to the calling of the Lord since failure to do that may cause them to perish.
The ceremony was calourful as the children recited memory verses, mainly in their native Ewe Language. They entertained the congregation through well-rehearsed choreography dances, sang bible-focused action songs among others.
The leadership of the church called on all to take good care of the children since they remain the future of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana.
The Children Ministry Facilitator Rev. Mrs. Matilda Enyonam Amade for the Meridian Presbytery while speaking at the celebration challenged parents to support their wards and the Children Ministry in any way possible to empower the teachers and the Children Ministry. Rev. Mrs. Matilda Enyonam Amade also led the Children’s Ministry to cut a cake to mark the 2022 Children’s Ministry Day celebration at the EPCG Shalom Congregation, Amrahia.
