E.P. Church Amrahia Shalom Congregation Launches its 20th Anniversary in Grand Style
The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) Amrahia Shalom Congregation launched its 20th anniversary on Sunday 7th August 2022 with a church service. The EPCG which is located at Amrahia opposite the Christian University College on the Adenta Dododwa road aims at celebrating the 20th anniversary towards the completion of its church hall.
Speaking preaching the sermon at the 20th-anniversary launch under the theme “You Must Be Ready” Catechist Mr. Serwornoo Dzando called on members of the church to celebrate and be happy because the Shalom congregation through the grace of God is launching her 20th Christians to the anniversary.
He compared the 20 years journey of the church to an individual who has turned 20, adding that the church will continue to grow from strength to strength.
He called on the congregation to set their hearts on things above and not earthly things that will lose value as they age. Christians will one day give an account of themselves before God soon, hence they must be ready.
Basing his sermon on Genesis 15:1-6, Hebrews 11:8-16 and Luke 12:35-40, Catechist Mr. Serwornoo Dzando admonished Christians to be ready for the Lord and hold on to the faith as their sign of being ready, just as Abraham held on to the faith even when he and his wife Sarah we in their old age.
He further called on Christians to be prayerful and wait upon the Lord, just like Abraham and Sarah. “The Lord who turned Abraham and Sarah’s story around is on his throne to turn your story around…but you must believe… God is not working according to your timetable…instead, he will make things happen at the appropriate time.” He said.
Christians were also called upon to remain steadfast and be ready for the coming of the Lord who has commanded Christians to watch, pray and wait for the coming of the Lord who has promised his children he has called unto himself to be ready as he will come back for his congregation.
The coming of Christ is not known, hence he called on the faithful Christians to be on guard, and be ready for the second coming of Christ in his own appointed time.
He warned Christian to desist from fornication, adultery, backbiting, and other vices because Christ will return at the hour when they (Christians) are not ready.
Mr. Dzando also called on all Christians who are ready for the Lord to do the will of God, and this includes evangelizing to the world around them through the life they leave in their communities, workplaces, and wherever they find themselves.
The Children’s Ministry was not left out of the celebration, as they performed choreography to the 20th years anniversary song, which was launched along with the anniversary logo and banner.
The EPCG Amrahia Shalom Congregation will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2023.
