*FOLLOWING THE GOLDEN RULE*

📜TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 22:1-12📜

🔑📖Key Verse:
“Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother” (DEUTERONOMY 22:1).

The passage of today instructs us not to ignore lost but found items, but to keep them safely for eventual restoration to the rightful owner. It also warns that men are not to wear things pertaining to women, neither are women to wear things pertaining to men, for all “that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God” (verse 5). Birds shielding their young ones or their eggs must not be taken together with their young or eggs. Sowing of diverse seeds (GMOs) was not allowed in their vineyards, as well, and an ox and an ass cannot plough together (to avoid interbreeding and cloning).

The royal law of “do unto others what you want them to do unto you” has been in existence from the Old Testament time. God is a God of love and fairness. He wants men to enjoy fellowship and goodness one with another. Sadly, there are people of corrupt and reprobate minds whose joy is in the suffering of others.

But the Church of Christ must be different. If the world does not abide by the doctrines of Christ because it has no grace to do so, the Church must.

It is by our love and care for one another that the world will know we belong to Christ. Unfortunately, there are still some in the church who are fanning the embers of hatred, tribalism, and discord. For all such, God demands repentance and restitution. Christ is not divided and anyone bringing division into His Body will surely reap the eternal judgment of God except he repents.

✍🏼THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whatsoever a man sows, same shall he reap.
