*WONDERFUL GOD!*

🔑📖“`KEY VERSE:“` _*”Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob” (PSALM 114:7).*_

The Bible is unmistaken in its assessment of the almightiness of God. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork”. In these days when pseudo-science is gaining ground, everything is being done to turn people’s attention from God. His wonderful works are attributed to impersonal nature. But no scientist who explores nature with an open mind can deny seeing the glory and works of God. In any case, neither warped science nor spurious theology can mask the wonders of God from even the untrained eyes.

In a most graphic and poetic style, PSALM 114 captures a few instances of the unusual display of God’s power relating to Israel’s deliverance from Egypt and their journey to the Promised Land. After four centuries in Egypt, the Jews were not assimilated, and at a divinely appointed time, God brought them out of Egyptian bondage. The Red Sea and River Jordan were divided before them. God provided them water out of the rock.

The same God is with His people today – those who have accepted the free offer of saving grace made possible by the redemptive work of Christ. The power of our unchanging God remains the same from creation to eternity. He created and governs all nature – the seas, mountains, forests, galaxies, world of animals and human beings. The whole earth, indeed, ought to tremble at His presence. He cares especially for His own. Happy are those who have Him as their God and Helper.

What is your relationship with this God of wonders? Have you experienced reconciliation with Him through faith in Christ the Mediator? “Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion”. Is your life a dwelling place for God and does He reign in it? If not, why not open up to Him now?

*MEDITATION*

*How awesome is God?*

*1. The art of imaginative meditation*
a. God commanded that, in addition to the reading and studying of the word of God, we should be meditating on it day and night, Joshua 1:8.
b. Meditation involves reading, rereading carefully, regurgitating, renumeration, reflecting and revisualization of the word of God in order to deepen and apply the word for deeper conviction and broader understanding.
c. Christian growth, conviction, understanding, perception and maturity depend largely on your skill and ability to meditate on the word of God productively.
d. The psalmist in pslam 114 beautifully show forth the awesomeness of God which only those who know how to meditate would appreciate very well.
e. In meditation, you must ask questions and visualize like:
i. What is this passage saying? *Read*
ii. Do I understand w
it very well? *Reread* more slowly and carefully.
iii. Any example to follow? Any thing to correct in my life? *Reflection*
iv. Any lesson for my life and prayer points? *Renumeration*
v. Anything to learn about the greatness, the glory and grandness of God in the text? *Revisualization*

Why is meditation important, Joshua 1:8.

*2. The awesome Immanuel and Master*
a. His sanctuary is among covenant and righteous people and not just any place or people, v2. Is your heart qualified to be a God’s sanctuary?
b. Though some human beings are so blind that they cannot see or perceive Him, the nature, like the sea, do see Him and respond in fear, v3.👌
c. He appeared to the sea (Red sea) and the sea had no choice than to flee in two directions? Man at present could only build bridges on the roaring sea but cannot divide it. How great is God? vv3,5.🤔
d. Can you think of how the sea (Red sea for example) fears and respects the appearance of God? Do you fear God and obey Him better that the sea and the forces of nature? If not, why not?, vv3.5🤷‍♂️
e. The forces of nature feel His presence. Do you feel and respond to God’s presence better than the forces of nature?, vv3,5,6. Can you recall how an animal fearfully fled at the sight of an angel 🤷‍♂️
f. Mount Sinai literally shook or skipped at the presence of God and people trembled exceedingly, vv4,6. Exodus 19:18. What kind of God is this that unmovable mountains moved and tremble at His presence? Do human being fear God to the point of trembling at His presence more than the mountain and even Satan?Does His majesty not worth it?, v7. Is there any heart He cannot break of He presence can make a mountain to shake?🤷‍♂️
g. He turned the rock into a fountain of water that could satisfy over 6m people, v8. Is there any dead life, business, destiny etc that He cannot make fruitful?

Give praises to God and use the Hymn below🙏
Ask God to teach you more of the art of meditation so that His word would always bless your life🙏
Ask God’s Spirit to be revealing
Himself and His word to you more and more as you meditate🙏
Pray for more sensitivity to His voice and presence among brethren🙏
