Many who once believed in our Lord and Master Jesus Christ and accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior are living defeated Christian lives today. The believer is constantly on the radial of the evil one.

These defeated believers living substandard Christian lives may have fallen along the way because they had no for their salvation. Others may have lost touch with God as a result of being attracted by worldly things, sin, and troubles of this life.

You might have fallen yourselves even as you read this message. God is ready to lift you out of the troubles and wipe away your tears if you will let him in.

Doubt as to whether one has been saved can cause a believer to fall off. The evil one may also make you unbelieve what you believed in when you received Christ as your Lord and personal saviour.

Text:

John 1-12:  “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

1 John 5:12: “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

This means that when we receive Christ, we must hold on to Him. It is prudent that, those who have held on to the faith continue to pray for Christians who have fallen along or defeated believers to reignite their faith. Visiting them wherever they may be found and ministering the gospel to them can cause them to reignite their first love for Christ.

When revisiting defeated believers with the hope of reigniting their first love, Christian brothers and sisters must themselves pray fervently, understand sin, the need for faith in God, his word, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and be led to preach salvation to others.

Salvation is the lifting of man/woman from his or her spiritual consequences of sin into a realm of eternal damnation as the result of Christ’s atonement work on the cross for us. Hence both the believer and the one who has fallen along the way needs to have faith in God thus accept Christ as His Lord and Personal Saviour after making a commitment to run away from sin which makes us act on our own will, a passive indifference to God.

When we receive Christ, we must take up a new life in Him, receive and enjoy the full promise to all who he calls his sons and daughter. As Christians, we know that God is revealed in the Bible and the promise of His word is our final authority.

The truth in God’s word is the power that leads us, let us revisit those who have fallen and win them back to Christ as he strengthens us.

If you have fallen off and want to reunite with God, say this prayer.

Lord Jesus, I have fallen and need you.

Guide me back to the first love

I surrender all unto you

I believe you died for me and for my well being

I confess my sins as a sinner, cleanse me.

Make me new, come and take your throne in my heart and life

Come into my life once again

Lead and guide me every step on the way

I have no power,

I depend on you for strength

To do your will and to grow in the Christian faith.

Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me back. Amen.
